hardy har hard

Two nights ago we had that rehearsal where you just cannot stop giggling. On stage, fighting the urge to laugh is so much worse than fighting... say... the urge to cry, or yell, which might have some real dramatic value. Breaking with laughter - not helpful. Yes its funny, yes its fun. But it also gets frustrating, because you just want to get through the scene. There are some fairly hysterical moments in this show, and it can be just as hard to be funny, as it can be to watch the funniness without breaking.

Heir director would just stop us. Tell us to breathe, and then say 'Are you all done now?'.

Yes. Breathing. Want to laugh, but breathing instead. Bite inside of cheeks. Look at scene partners forehead, not in his eyes. Ignore the designer's muffled laughter from off stage. Breathe. And. Get. Through. The. Scene.
